Indian culture ques?

i was born and raised in america but am indian. and i always feel awkward saying like i love you to anyone in my family, esspecially my parents. i guess its that we are never straight forward about things like that. but then again there probably are many families that are affecionate. so it probably depends on who your dealing with.
