Canning mushrooms?

I was told that you can not dry beefsteak mushrooms like you can morels. My parents and I tend to cook them all together before we freeze them, since we get more beefsteaks than anything else. I would like to transport some to someone, but they will thaw if we freeze them. I was wondering if it is possible to can them instead?
